Overview Majors of the Spanish program of Pacific University Oregon study abroad for a semester in a Spanish-speaking country. Students may also practice their language skills with a native-speaking language assistant on campus or with students in other parts of the world via real-time video conferencing.Other program highlights include short-term travel courses in Spain or Mexico and the opportunity to get first-hand experience teaching languages.Learning Outcomes | Spanish Major/MinorAfter Pacific | Our students have been awarded Fulbright Scholarships for postgraduate work teaching or doing research abroad. Our graduates also work in business, education and health professions.Student Learning OutcomesThe Modern Languages major may concentrate in French, German, Japanese or Spanish as a primary language, and French, German, Japanese, Spanish or Chinese as a secondary language. Students may also select a major in Japanese or Spanish or a major in French or German Studies.The department seeks to graduate majors who:demonstrate linguistic proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing equivalent to ACTFL Advanced Mid; communicate effectively on a wide variety of present, past, and future events; exchange general information on topics outside their fields of interest; and handle a complication or unexpected turn of eventsevaluate major literary, intellectual or historical trends of the cultures of concentrationidentify an interdisciplinary or disciplinary understanding of cultural diversityapply appropriate research methods to a senior thesis or a capstone project in the language of specialization I want to find another Bachelor Course
