    About

    Ulster University is the sole provider of the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing programme in Northern Ireland. Fields of practice currently offered are Health Visiting and School Nursing. The programme is regulated and aligned to the NMC (2022) standards. Students will be supported in developing the skills, knowledge and attributes required to deliver interventions that are safe, person centred and effective in promoting and improving the health of children, young people, families and communities . The programme embraces inclusivity and diversity on both a global and local level and is reflective of a changing society recognising the needs of families in often complex circumstances. This programme equips registered nurses with the necessary skills in risk assessment, decision making and leadership required to work at a specialist level.

    Entry Requirements

    We recognise a range of qualifications for admission to our courses. In addition to the specific entry conditions for this course you must also meet the University’s General Entrance Requirements.

    Health Visiting and School nursing students are required to apply for the programme through the regional recruitment process.Self-funding applicants must follow the regional recruitment process and apply to the preferred trust, if successful at interview and a commissioned place is not available, the opportunity to self-fund will be offered.

    English language requirements for international applicants

    International students must achieve a score of 7 overall and 7 on each sub-scale on the IELTS test of proficiency in English (NMC requirement).
