    About

    Sports Biomechanics looks to optimise human performance, reduce injury risk, and contribute to the rehabilitation and clinical management of athletes and clients.

    You will gain comprehensive, critical knowledge and understanding of both classical theory and models as well as selected specialised and current issues relevant to biomechanics and rehabilitation within human movement analysis, sport, exercise, health, and the clinical environment. 

    All students will have the opportunity to develop expertise in the practical use of state-of-the-art biomechanics equipment related to human movement and performance, as well as associated software platforms for measurement, analysis, and modelling of data. 

    You will benefit from a wide range of teaching, learning, and assessment modes with an emphasis on practical skills and the use of technology.

    As this is an MRes, you will have meaningful ownership over your own studies though our staff will supervise and mentor work packages and research projects covering a wide range of relevant topics. You will also have the flexibility to specialise in the area you are most passionate about.

    You will benefit from our close relationships with local and national clinical and sports institutions such as the University of Dundee Institute of Sport and Exercise, NHS Tayside, multiple professional sports clubs, and sportscotland - Scotland's national agency for sport.

    Specialise in the physics of sport and gain practical and research skills in the analysis of human movement for sports and clinical rehabilitation

    Entry Requirements

    Typically we can consider a Bachelor's degree from a well-ranked institution.

    A score of

    • 75-91% (GPA of 3.0/4.0 or 3.5/5.0) is considered comparable to a UK 2:1 (Upper Second-Class Honours)
    • 63-74% is considered comparable to a UK 2:2 (Lower Second-Class Honours)
