Our foundation year is flexible and led by your interests. You can focus on sport journalism or try another creative subject. This includes journalism, media and television production, or photography. This can help you explore your interests and decide what to study.
You'll work on a number of different projects during your foundation year. You can take a sport journalism approach to these projects. You'll research, find and produce a sports story to meet the brief. This will equip you with the skills you need for your degree. You can also explore another creative subject instead.
All of our arts and media foundation year students study together. This means you'll meet people with different interests, including journalists, TV producers and photographers. Working with them can inspire your own approach to sport journalism. Our course team will be on-hand to support you throughout your foundation year.
Once you have passed your foundation year, you can progress onto our Sports Journalism BA (Hons) degree. You'll learn how to tell sports stories in a variety of ways. This includes written news, television broadcasts, podcasts, digital videos and social media. You'll work with our industry partners, gaining experience before you've even graduated.
