    About

The interdisciplinary Master of Arts Sport Management programme is characterised by the teaching of professional, social and personal competences in order to be able to adequately analyse and solve questions and problems in the interface area of sports science, psychology as well as law and economics. The core competence is the ability to integrate knowledge of sports science and law/economics. On the one hand, existing knowledge should be able to be used and integrated for the solution, on the other hand, new knowledge should be able to be generated. The study programme enables students to independently, theoretically guided and goal-orientedly find adequate solutions for scientific as well as practice-related problems and promotes the willingness to reflect as well as the ability to criticise.

    Career

Today, Computer Science plays an increasingly important role in research and development as operational procedures can no longer be developed and optimised without software solutions. As a result, the opportunities for computer scientists on the labor market are promising: the demand for them is rising. While most of them are in regular employment, there is also a number of self-employed computer scientists. They will find employment in companies of nearly all industries, in public administration and in research. There, they develop, programme and modify hard and software programmes, in particular in connection with complex information, communication and control systems. Graduates of the special Masters degree programme of the computer science branch of Visual Computing can expect a diverse and extensive labor market. There are prospects in various areas of industry, business and research. Computer scientists for vision and graphics visualise, for instance, 2D and 3D models from digital data for medical engineering, the automotive industry and other branches of industrial production as well as the media industry. The design of hardware-related software systems is applied in autonomous systems operations. Processing visual information also plays an important role for virtual engineering (e.g. for CAD systems). Additionally, the Technical University of Darmstadt and the department of Informatics is in close contact with the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Resarch (IGD), one of the worlds leading institutes for applied research in the field of Visual Computing. For this reason it is important to start early in the degree programme to gain practical work experience in relevant organisations. In this way students can promote themselves as competent professionals in practice and make important professional contacts. The likelihood of finding a good position is definitely heightened if the student is flexible when it comes to commuting or even moving abroad. Good English language skills are particularly important when it comes to the international job market. TU Darmstadt Career Services
