Statistics (Desautels Faculty of Management)

Statistics is motivated by the need to extract information from data, to quantify uncertainty, and to make predictions about random phenomena. To do this effectively, sophisticated mathematical and probabilistic techniques and computational tools are needed. Core areas of expertise include Bayesian inference, biostatistics, computational statistics, high-dimensional data modeling, multivariate analysis, and survival analysis.

Accepted international credentials

Applicants are reviewed on their high school transcript with particular emphasis on yearly averages and results in prerequisite subjects (prerequisite subjects must have been completed during the last two years of high school).

With a degree in Statistics, you’ll develop unique knowledge in calculating, analyzing, and presenting information. You can follow private or public sector paths, or continue the course in the graduate studies.
