    About

Overview Fully project-based, the Sustainability and Development program at Southern Methodist University takes advantage of its location in the DFW region to engage with the expertise of local professionals and government bodies, and to participate in the sustainable re-visioning of complex sites both locally and globally, seeking strategies to counterbalance long-term trends towards environmental inequality and spatial fragmentation. From policy to design to data, the multidisciplinary approach embeds the study of environmental science and energy within the context of global development, urban planning, transportation, and sustainable construction. With its unique home in the Lyle School of Engineering, and with the support of the Hunt Institute for Engineering and Humanity, the MASD program is for concerned individuals in both engineering and non-engineering fields who wish to operate on an expert level on global sustainable approaches, bringing together aspects of environmental justice, urbanization and resilience.  I want to find another Master Course The 30-hour program emphasizes the interdisciplinary leadership skills needed to undertake truly sustainable environmental infrastructure management, as well as creative design-based approaches to global environmental change.
Approaching global development through a prism of core sustainable development perspectives, ecological, economic and social, the Sustainability and Development program at Southern Methodist University is focused on creative approaches to the design and development of the built environment including aspects of transport, water, landscape and building and infrastructure systems.
