The Graduate Certificate for Teachers of Spanish and French is intended for secondary school teachers of Spanish or French who are seeking the necessary credentials to be able to teach dual credit (college and high school) courses in their high schools. This certificate will provide teachers with the required 18 graduate credit hours of coursework in the discipline of Spanish or French.
The graduate certificate program requires completion of four courses in Applied Linguistics, literature or film, which are taught in the evening during the academic year, and one 2 credit hour internship in Spanish or French to be determined with the Director of Graduate Studies. Students should be able to complete the requirements for the certificate within 12 months.
Students successfully completing this program may apply to and continue in a master's degree programs in either French or Spanish.
