Telehealth

The 21st Century healthcare provider will utilize a wide variety of tools in managing their patient's health. In addition, the patient will also utilize these tools. These tools will integrate telecommunications, information systems, and personal computing, and perhaps have comprehensive decision support systems and even artificial intelligence.

Telemedicine, telehealth, e-Health, and mobile health (m-Health) are all areas that are rapidly growing and becoming highly effective tools in healthcare. These terms continue to evolve as technology continues to become available (e.g. mobile phones and associated health-related apps). All health professional graduates and health care workers in the field should have a basic understanding of what telemedicine, telehealth and connected health is and how it can improve clinical practice.

The Telehealth Medicine Graduate Certificate program is designed to teach and reinforce concepts of telehealth to a wide variety of individuals, including physicians, residents, nurses, allied health professionals, information technology specialists, and administrators. This certificate program will provide a solid foundation for those engaged in training, and prepare them for new challenges facing healthcare.

For our graduate programs, we welcome applications from students who hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) from a college or university accredited by a regional or general accrediting agency, and have at least a B average in undergraduate course work (or otherwise give evidence of promise that is judged satisfactory by the admitting program).
