    Theater Arts (B.A.)

    About

Theater Arts (B.A.) The mission of the theater program at Rutgers-Camden is to develop the skills, craft, and imagination of its students, as well as to provide them with a strong understanding of the history of theater within a well-rounded liberal arts context. The curriculum includes courses in the areas of acting, directing, playwriting, design, technical theater, dramatic literature, and theater history, with a commitment to student-generated work on and off campus. As part of a strong, interdisciplinary Department of Fine Arts, students also benefit from exposure to visual art, music, and new digital media perspectives, with the direction and guidance of a professionally active faculty. Students are encouraged to explore the wide range of opportunities the program offers, including participation on stage or behind the scenes in the season of plays presented each year in our two performance venues: the Walter K. Gordon Theater, a state-of-the-art 650 seat proscenium house, and the Black Box Studio, a flexible space for smaller productions. The proximity to the vibrant Philadelphia and New York theater scenes makes internships highly accessible.

Score reports must be from tests taken within the past two years and submitted directly to us from the testing service.

English courses that are designated ESL, non-native, or which require a special support component, or any courses taken outside the US, are not acceptable. Please also note that Rutgers does not accept correspondence or online courses for the language proficiency requirement.
