About

Overview Students engage in deep academic inquiry intentionally integrated with contextual realities, seeking to more deeply understand and respond to the diverse needs of our Church and world.The M.A. program in Theology and Ministry from Boston College includes a year-long contextual education course, comprised of field experience in which you observe and explore ministerial work in different contexts, deepen practical skills, and examine how your experience relates to theological study. Practicum placements can be done during the academic year in Boston, or over the summer throughout the country and world. Learning OutcomesUpon completion of the MA program, student should be able to:Bring informed theological, biblical, and pastoral resources to interpret and to enhance the life and ministry of faith-based communities and programs of service;Embody the pastoral and spiritual formation that is needed to provide leadership and empowerment to communities of faith through various functions of ministry and service; andDevelop effective programs of ministry and service that are well grounded in theological and pastoral studies and that enable persons and communities to integrate life and Christian faith in the context of their everyday lives.
