    Overview Students are engaged in Women's Health Care practice across the life span and emphasizes is on addressing the access to health care and sociocultural disparities issues faced by women. Graduates of the Women's Health Nurse Practitioner program of Emory University are prepared to take the national women's health nurse practitioner certification exam.Flexible studiesThe WHNP program requires 48 credit hours and may be completed in four semesters of full time study or may be pursed part time. The majority of the WHNP courses offered have online/hybrid options. I want to find another Master Course Unique HighlightsStudents have the opportunity to provide care for women across the lifespan, from adolescence to old age. The program seeks to prepare health professionals who will provide care to women with a particular focus on those disadvantaged by gender or sexual discrimination. In Addition, Emory WHNP students are provided with a unique opportunity to receive specialized training in forensic nursing and meeting the needs of patients who are survivors of violence.Clinical ExperienceA variety of clinical sites offer students the choice of working in many different health care settings with diverse populations of women. Clinical sites include rural clinics, student health services, reproductive health clinics, public health clinics, HIV clinics, oncology treatment centers, and infertility clinics. There are opportunities to participate in service-learning projects such as the migrant farm worker summer project or in a FQHC in rural Appalachia. Clinical placements do not need to occur in the Atlanta area.Career OpportunitiesThe Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program prepares students for a wide range of career opportunities in a variety of environments, including private practice, public health, correctional health, family planning agencies, and reproductive health.
