    About

    Our Youth Work programmes link the theory of youth work, to the practical delivery. We also ensure you're up to date with policy, legislation, and best practice.

    You'll learn from experienced, professional and passionate youth workers. They have recent real-life experience and are accomplished in their fields of research.

    The course offers a variety of extra accreditations to support you in your future career including:

    • first aid
    • child sexual exploitation
    • five steps to risk assessment
    • safeguarding

    Our students can also take part in a residential as part of the course at Coldwell activity centre in the Pennines. It is not only a fun experience that helps students bond and learn from each other, but teaches outdoor engagement skills that can be used when working with young people.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    Diploma from a technical / vocational or health college / institute with a GPA of 2.0/5 or 60-64%

    Successful completion of on year of appropriate study at a recognised KSA university with a GPA 2.5/5 (65-69%)

    Diploma from a technical / vocational or health college / institute with a GPA of 2.5/5 (65-69%)

    English Program Requirements

  • IELTS: 6.0 with no Component lower than 5.5

    Tuition Fees are paid by funding through the Employer and/or Government via the Apprenticeship Levy, meaning that you as the learner do not pay the standard tuition fee rates.

    Please be aware that students on Degree Apprenticeships do not qualify for any funding from Student Finance.

    Studying this degree apprenticeship means you'll be able to work directly with young people to change the course of their lives.

    After completing this course, you'll be able to move into a wide range of careers including, but not limited to:

    • teaching (with the addition of a PGCE)

    • housing association work
    • working with young offenders

    • social work (with additional qualifications)

    Our course is taught via day release, you will attend university one day per week.

    You'll complete a variety of different assessments as part of your programme. These will include case studies, evaluations, assessed discussions, role plays and presentations. We have no exams on our programme.

    You'll be taught by passionate youth workers with a wealth of experience in teaching and assessment as well as working with young people.

    You'll study in a supportive, engaging environment where you'll be challenged. We'll give you the opportunity, time, and resources to learn to be the best youth worker you can be.

    Enrolment on the course is subject to a mandatory DBS check.

    As you’ll be working with vulnerable groups of individuals, including children, you’ll need a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance (formerly termed CRB). We’ll be able to guide you through this process once you have been offered a conditional place of study here.

    If your Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check proves to be unsatisfactory, your offer of a place may be withdrawn.
