    Established in 1992, Jerash University (jpu) is a private university located in Jarash, Jordan.With a broad range of degree programs, it offers a unique academic and culturally immersive experience for international students.

    Welcome to Jerash University, which bears the name of a city founded during the reign of Alexander the Great in the fourth century BC, and means "the place with dense trees", welcome to Jerash University with its fragrance and deep history, Jerash the Roman civilization, and the Arab and Islamic civilization, Jerash the history, and the engineering that has baffled the masters of engineers, Jerash the architecture that inspired the world's greatest architects, and in its style the largest and richest cities in the world were built, from Rome to Washington DC, Jerash the water and greenery, Jerash the valley of gold and beauty, Jerash the Kairouan and the two ponds, Jerash the forests and valleys, Jerash tourism and agriculture.

    On the twenty-third of October in the year one thousand nine hundred and ninety-one, six of the good and righteous men of Jordan agreed after lengthy consultations to establish Jerash University, and they are:
    Professor Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Rabie, and Mr. Muhammad Mahmoud Al-Hawamdeh. Professor Dr. Mustafa Mahmoud Al-Hawamdeh, and Professor Muhammad Falah Zureikat. The late Hajj Mahmoud Muhammad Rabie, and the late Hajj Haidar Issa Murad.

    The Ministry of Higher Education approved the establishment of this university in the year 1992, and teaching began in it in the year 1993. It is the first private university in northern Jordan, and the largest private investment institution in Jerash Governorate. It was, still is, and will continue, God willing, to contribute to solving the problems of poverty and unemployment, as it graduated more than twenty-three thousand male and female students for the bachelor's stage, and more than seven hundred male and female students for the master's stage. From here, it provided the public and private sectors with distinguished professional cadres, including judges in courts, representatives in legislative councils, teachers in schools, accountants in companies, and engineers in contracting and agriculture. Jerash University is located on an area of ​​more than three hundred dunams, while the area of ​​its buildings is approximately seventy thousand square meters. It contains eleven colleges: Arts, Educational Sciences, Business, Law, Sharia, Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Information Technology, and Agriculture. There are three deanships: Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, Accreditation and Quality, and Student Affairs. There are three centers: Language Center, Counseling and Community Service Center, and Computer Center. The number of bachelor's specializations is twenty-three, and the number of master's specializations is nine. In addition, there is a computerized scientific library with approximately one hundred and twenty-five thousand volumes and books, and it also contains scientific periodicals and magazines covering all specializations. Jerash University has acquired elements of strength that have made it attractive to every student from inside and outside Jordan, including:

    • First: It is located in the middle of six governorates of the Kingdom and at approximately the same distance, which are: Amman, the capital, Balqa, Zarqa, Mafraq, Irbid, and Ajloun.
    • Second: It is located on the main road that connects Jordan to neighboring countries, especially Syria, and is characterized by heavy traffic, which facilitates the process of getting to and from the university.
    • Third: The academic status that the university has achieved since its establishment locally and regionally through holding a number of international conferences, concluding a number of cooperation agreements with international universities and research centers, and issuing an international peer-reviewed journal, Jerash for Research and Studies. In addition, it is a member of the Association of Arab Universities, the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, the Federation of Arab and European Universities, the Federation of International Universities, and the Association of Arab Private Institutions for Higher Education.
    • Fourth: The existence of a system for sponsorship Incoming students, and providing them with appropriate accommodation and care in various fields.
    • Fifth: The presence of a large number of faculty members with diverse specializations and long experience in academic fields.
    • Sixth: The university is the only one among Jordanian private universities that contains a distinguished college of agriculture locally, regionally and globally.
    • Seventh: Providing educational opportunities and grants to the local, Arab and Islamic community, and it operates on a convenient installment system for students.

    Requirements for Jerash University in Jordan

    Students with a high school diploma or its equivalent from outside Jordan can enroll in higher education institutions directly through websites of public and private universities or intermediate community colleges based on their averages. Universities implement the credit hours system, which allows students to choose courses according to their study plan.

    Students wishing to enroll in a master's program must hold a bachelor's degree. Furthermore, students who wish to enroll in doctoral programs must hold a master's degree.

    In addition, students wishing to enroll in postgraduate programs are required to provide a certificate confirming their English proficiency level in a TOEFL or IELTS exam. They could also demonstrate a certain proficiency level in French or German. Lastly, they could take an English language exam held by the higher education institution they apply in.

    In the event that the student fails to prove the required level of English, German or French, or fails the English equivalency exam, they may study a qualifying program in English at the university where they undertake additional six credit hours; he/she must score a minimum grade that varies according to their specialization.
