    Accelerated 2-year degree

    By studying on a 2-year accelerated degree, you will be required to study throughout the year including through the summer. This allows you to complete the full course, with the same outcomes, in a shorter amount of time.. Students considering two-year degrees are expected to be highly self-motivated to complete the course within two years, and our academics and specialist personal tutors will be there to support you along the way.

    Accredited by the ACCA this accelerated 2-year accounting and finance degree gives you a range of exemptions including the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Fundamentals level papers, as well as CIMA and ICAEW.

    Visa information

    As a Jordanian national you will need to obtain a student visa or equivalent to be able to study with us at LSBU. The main route for students to come to the UK to study is the General student visa. We have information about visas and immigration on our website and guidance on the requirements. It is also important to refer to the information and student visa Policy Guidance which is available on the Home Office website. You should also check the visa processing times if you are applying from Jordan.

    English Program Requirements

    Each course has specific entry requirements, which are listed on each course in the tab 'Entry requirements'. Search Course Finder for full course information including entry requirements.

    You must have five GCSE passes at grade C or above – including English and Maths – to study any of our courses. We’ll also accept Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English in place of GCSEs. If you completed your English and Maths GCSE under the new grading system, you’ll need a grade 4 or higher.

    Professional qualification exemptions

    We strive to give our students a head-start to their careers. This course provides you with a number of Professional Accountancy Body exemptions, notably:

    • Full exemption from the 9 ACCA Fundamental level exams, so you can work as a part-qualified accountant in public practice, industry or commerce upon graduation. If you decide to pursue the ACCA Professional level exams, you can prepare for them at LSBU with our specially designed programme.
    • 9 exemptions from the AIA
    • 8 exemptions from the CIMA
    • 7 Exemptions from the ICAEW

    Your career

    Our BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance graduates work in an array of jobs and sectors. Many of our graduates decide to work in a practice whilst completing their professional qualifications. Accountants and finance professionals work in public sector organisations such the NHS and Universities, Banks such as Natwest and Lloyds, accounting firms such as PWC and E&Y, corporations as well as SMEs. You can choose a career in audit, tax, financial accounting, management accounting to name just a few options. We pride ourselves in accompanying our students throughout the degree and beyond, meaning that once you become an LSBU student we work with you to enable you reach your potential and follow the career that suits you.

    Employability Service

    At LSBU, we want to set you up for a successful career. During your studies and for two years after you graduate you’ll have access to our Employability Service, which includes:

    • An online board where you can see a wide range of placements :part-time, full-time or voluntary. You can also drop in to see our Job Shop advisers, who are always available to help you take the next step in your search.
    • Our Careers Gym offering group workshops on CVs, interview techniques and finding work experience, as well as regular presentations from employers across a range of sectors.

    Our Student Enterprise team can also help you start your own business and develop valuable entrepreneurial skills.

    How to Apply

    How can I submit an application?

    If you are an overseas student (and a national of a country outside the EU) or an EU national that does not have settled status, you can complete the LSBU Online Application Form. It is very important to upload all the necessary supporting documents as they are required to process your application.

    You will be able to make 1 application and choose up to 2 courses to apply to.

    Alternative application systems

    If your course is not listed in our LSBU Online Application System you can apply via the following national application services:

    • International undergraduate students (full-time and part-time) can apply via UCAS.

    What happens next?

    Once you have submitted your online application you will receive an email confirming that it has been successfully received and that your application is being checked by our International Admissions Team.

    Your application will be reviewed by an International Admissions Officer and you will then receive an email stating your ID number to be used for any questions you may have about the status of your application.

    Receiving a decision

    The International Admissions Team will contact you once a decision has been made or if further information is required.

    The decision will be made on the standard entry criteria for the course you have applied for (in accordance with our Admissions Policy) but we will also take into account your immigration history if you require a Student Sponsor visa.
