Extra curricular activities

Business students benefit from a number of facilities and software available within the School of Business, but are also host to a whole number of extracurricular activities that help prepare students for the world of work.

Below is a list of extracurricular activities which students can get involved in, utilising the facilities which we have available, to make the learning process at LSBU much more practical and hands-on.

• Institute of Directors (IoD) our close relationship with the IoD results in regular networking events with senior IoD members, entry into the Young Director of the Year award, membership with the IoD, and access to all of their great resources.
• Business Solutions Centre - put skills in to practice as a student advisor inthe¯Business Solutions Centre, whilst making a positive impact in the business community.
• Mentoring“ Students have the opportunity to be mentored by a peer or provisional from industry
• LinkedIn Learning - benefit from access to a¯wide array of courses and materials related to professional and personal development.
• Live Projects students benefit from live projects with real businesses who present problems and students have to suggest solutions.
• Hackathons an event, which brings students together to solve a business problem over a short period, you will need to think fast and work as a team to come up with an innovative solution!
• ILX courses We provide a number of accredited courses, which prepare students for project management, a crucial skill respected within the business sector.
• Learn a language students will have the opportunity to learn another language, an invaluable skill in a global city. Another language is just another skill we can support you with, supporting you for future career success.
• Speakers Club- improveyour presentation skills by working with professional and networking.

Academic entry requirements

Visa information

As a Jordanian national you will need to obtain a student visa or equivalent to be able to study with us at LSBU. The main route for students to come to the UK to study is the General student visa. We have information about visas and immigration on our website and guidance on the requirements. It is also important to refer to the information and student visa Policy Guidance which is available on the Home Office website. You should also check the visa processing times if you are applying from Jordan.

Scholarships

We currently offer a wide variety of scholarships with a total value of £1 million. Read more about LSBU scholarships for international students.

Our scholarships include Nationality Scholarships for residents of Jordan.

How can I submit an application?

If you are an overseas student (and a national of a country outside the EU) or an EU national that does not have settled status, you can complete the LSBU Online Application Form. It is very important to upload all the necessary supporting documents as they are required to process your application.

You will be able to make 1 application and choose up to 2 courses to apply to.

Alternative application systems

If your course is not listed in our LSBU Online Application System you can apply via the following national application services:

• International undergraduate students (full-time and part-time) can apply via UCAS.

What happens next?

Once you have submitted your online application you will receive an email confirming that it has been successfully received and that your application is being checked by our International Admissions Team.

Your application will be reviewed by an International Admissions Officer and you will then receive an email stating your ID number to be used for any questions you may have about the status of your application.

Receiving a decision

The International Admissions Team will contact you once a decision has been made or if further information is required.

The decision will be made on the standard entry criteria for the course you have applied for (in accordance with our Admissions Policy) but we will also take into account your immigration history if you require a Student Sponsor visa.

• We are no longer accepting deposits for Sep 2022
• CAS Deadline – Friday 29 July 2022
• Latest date for arrival in the UK – Monday 12 September 2022

January 2023 intake

• Last application – Friday 4 Nov 2022
• Deadline to meet conditions – Friday 18 Nov 2022
• Deadline for receipt of  deposit payment – Friday 25 Nov 2022
• CAS Deadline – Friday 2 Dec 2022

Please note, not all courses have a January intake, please check individual course pages for information. We currently only have places on courses in our School of Engineering and School of Built Environment and Architecture and the above deadlines may be subject to change without notice once places are full.
