This program is designed to cover all theoretical and practical aspects of financial and managerial accounting, along with other subjects like international accounting, taxes, accounting theory, accounting principles and standards and auditingÃ¢â‚¬Â¦Â Â

Vision statements of the program:

Vision: The vision of accounting department is to develop skilled human resources with specialized education and training in accounting. Since its inception in 1965, the Department has been committed to full the needs of modern business world by producing executives and trained manpower with strong skills in accounting, auditing, taxation and financial analysis.

Mission statements of the program:

Mission: The mission of the Accounting Department is to educate students to function in different accounting jobs by creating an intellectual environment that enables students to acquire knowledge and skills necessary to practice accounting in private and public sectors in a professional and ethical manner to achieve success in a dynamic accounting environment.

Program Aims:

1. Providing students with required academic experiences for both under graduates and graduates level, along with practical and theoretical knowledge.

2. Developing students' mental and practical skills according to accounting profession.Â

3. Coordination with private and public sectors for continuous improvement on academic accounting programs.

Bachelor OF Accounting / Program Intended Learning Outcomes

At the successful completion of the Bachelor Program in Accounting the student should be able to:

1. Evaluate the accounting role in business organizations and society, and explain the main foundations in the primary areas of the accounting discipline from both a local and global perspectives.

2. Work within teams across different accounting and management levels inside and outside the organization.

3. Identify ethical issues in accounting context and critically discuss ethical reasoning to an accounting and business circumstances.

4. Utilize applicable theories from accounting to research and analyze contemporary issues in accounting and relate fields where appropriate.

5. Apply a range of mastered skills including; principles of scientific research in accounting, leadership and direction skills appropriate to the context of accounting, and prepare oral presentation to professional standards.

6. Utilize critical thinking and problem solving to analyze business environment and provide relevant business alternatives.

7. Adhere to International Accounting Standards (IAS/IFRSs) to prepare financial statements for different business

organizations, and inspect the financial statements based on International Standards on Auditing (ISAs).

8. Adapt appropriate technologies and accounting techniques to collect and analyze information to conclude appropriate solutions for accounting problems.

9. Develop oral and written communication skills using appropriate technologies to elaborate accounting information and financial reports.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Students with a high school diploma or its equivalent from outside Jordan can enroll in higher education institutions directly through websites of public and private universities or intermediate community colleges based on their averages. Universities implement the credit hours system, which allows students to choose courses according to their study plan.

Students wishing to enroll in a master's program must hold a bachelor's degree. Furthermore, students who wish to enroll in doctoral programs must hold a master's degree.

In addition, students wishing to enroll in postgraduate programs are required to provide a certificate confirming their English proficiency level in a TOEFL or IELTS exam. They could also demonstrate a certain proficiency level in French or German. Lastly, they could take an English language exam held by the higher education institution they apply in.

In the event that the student fails to prove the required level of English, German or French, or fails the English equivalency exam, they may study a qualifying program in English at the university where they undertake additional six credit hours; he/she must score a minimum grade that varies according to their specialization.
