    About

The Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Post-Master's Certificate program prepares nurses to treat patients 13 and older with acute, critical and/or chronic episodes of illness, injury, or trauma in a wide range of settings, including hospitals and ambulatory care facilities and short-term stay settings in the home, office and clinic.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

For our graduate programs, we welcome applications from students who hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) from a college or university accredited by a regional or general accrediting agency, and have at least a B average in undergraduate course work (or otherwise give evidence of promise that is judged satisfactory by the admitting program).

    Career

Graduates of the AGACNP Certificate program meet criteria to take certification exams for AGACNP. The market for these advanced practice nurses continues to expand because of the aging population, changes that limit the hours of medical residents and the need for specialty care providers. Often, students are hired in an area in which they completed practicum experience.

Aspiring nurse practitioners who want to work in non-acute-care settings should instead explore the Adult-Gerontology Primary Care specialty.
