Advanced Occupational Therapy/Advanced Occupational Therapy (Community) (incorporatآing PG Cert/PG Dip)

    About

Designed for qualified occupational therapists to support continuous professional development and to facilitate advancing practice, this programme offers a choice of occupational therapy and interprofessional modules to enable your post-registration

    • This is a flexible course that allows you to tailor your own continued professional development to your personal, professional and service needs, through a range of occupational therapy and interprofessional modules. Modules can be studied as one-off CPD opportunities or you can work towards a PG Certificate, Diploma or MSc in Advanced Occupational Therapy
    • The programme is appropriate to a range of practice areas and career routes. However, if you work in a community setting, you may wish to work towards our MSc Advanced Occupational Therapy (Community) by incorporating our two specialist community modules into your studies
    • You will study through distance learning on a part time basis, meaning you can study from your home at a time and pace to suit you, allowing you to shape your own learning
    • You will develop the skills and knowledge required in contemporary settings to apply evidence to your practice and to think critically and innovatively around current and future roles
    • After completing the PG Dip or MSc stage, you can apply for a place on the Doctor of Health and Social Care Practice which will enable you to further develop as a clinical and professional leader
    • Join with a previous qualification in occupational therapy (other entry requirements apply)

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

    • Students must have completed a subject relevant Bachelors degree with an overall score of 'Good' or above (2.25 GPA) from a recognised university in Jordan
    • For postgraduate research degrees, PhD applicants are expected to have a masters as well as a bachelors degree in the relevant subject areas. Most importantly applicants must submit a research proposal.

    Career

Occupational therapists who have previously studied CPD modules or completed a stage of study have found this learning very beneficial in developing their role due to the strong grounding of the modules in their workplace setting. Studying at this level will enable you to demonstrate continued professional development essential to retain registration with the Health and Care Professions Council and facilitate development of the skills, knowledge and behaviours necessary for career advancement in a range of practice areas.

On successful completion of either the PG Diploma level or the MSc in Advanced Occupational Therapy you can go on to study our Doctorate in Health and Social Care Practice (Occupational Therapy) to help you to become a clinical and professional leader in your profession.
