    Advanced Therapeutic Technologies

    About

Why Advanced Therapeutic Technologies at RCSI Dublin?

Do you love biology and health sciences? Are you interested in technology and maths? Would you like to research and develop the latest medicines, treatments and health technologies and work in the thriving (bio)pharma industry in Ireland. If so, RCSI’s BSc Advanced Therapeutic Technologies is the course for you.

The BSc in Advanced Therapeutic Technologies is at the forefront of science degrees in Ireland. It is a broad, diverse and innovative programme that introduces students to the (bio)pharma eco system and biomedical science. This four-year science degree was designed in collaboration with national and multinational biopharma companies who provided their industry expertise to support the design of a curriculum that would address critical skills gaps.

During your studies, you will learn about each step of the drug lifecycle process, adding in advanced therapeutics and technologies, the use of AI (artificial intelligence) in disease diagnosis, treatment and surgery, biomedical science, data analytics and the new discipline of precision medicine that personalises treatment for patients based on molecular features of their disease and background. You will carry out research with RCSI faculty involved in cutting-edge discoveries in areas such as cancer, immunology, tissue engineering, genetics, cellular biology, data analytics and biomedical science.

As healthcare moves towards an individualised approach to treatment, the demand for workplace-ready graduates is constantly growing; this new science degree ensures that graduates are ideally qualified to fulfil these roles in the biopharma and associated industries.
