The Level 2 Award in Supporting Adults and Young People in Essential Skills enables the learner to develop the skills to engage and support adults and young people with communication, numeracy, or ESOL needs.
It looks at the barriers to education and how learners are assessed and signposted to the most appropriate provision. Candidates will also acquire the skills needed to provide the best support within the classroom or other learning environment according to current models of good practice.
The qualification is for those people working or volunteering in Adult Community Learning (ACL), Work based learning (WBL), Further Education (FE) or indeed any organisation which comes into contact with adults needing to improve their communication, numeracy or ESOL skills.
Learners working towards the qualification are required to undergo a placement of 8 hours where they will support a learner or group of learners developing their essential skills and two observations of this practice is mandatory.
Instalments
Courses and exam fees over £100 are eligible to be paid by instalments. Learners pay 20% at enrolment and up to 4 monthly payments. A standing order form must be completed at the time of enrolment if paying via instalments.
