Western Michigan University's Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse (SPADA) provides professional education for all those who are interested in the field of substance use and addiction. Multidisciplinary in nature, SPADA delivers a balanced orientation of theory and practice, considers a breadth of contemporary issues, and emphasizes a variety of methods for dealing with the problems of addiction, problematic substance use, and substance use disorders. SPADA offers two graduate certificates, the Clinical Addiction Certificate and Addiction Specialization Certificate. All courses are also offered online.
