Bachelor of Agribusiness and Master of Agricultural Economics

    About

This Combined Bachelor and Master (CBM) is a four-year accelerated program for those with an ATAR of 90 or above. Over the first three years you’ll complete an extended major in Agricultural Science and Agribusiness, and some units from the Master of Agricultural Economics. You can then choose to exit after three years with an Advanced Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness, or continue with the Master of Agricultural Economics and be awarded a Bachelor of Agribusiness and a Master of Agricultural Economics at the end of the four years.

The Agricultural Economics Combined Bachelor's and Master's course is a globally relevant economics degree that focuses on analysis of production, consumption, and trade issues in the global food, fibre and energy sectors. The degree offers technical and applied training across areas that are immediately relevant to careers in consulting, many industry sectors, and government and non-governmental organisations.

By completing this Combined Bachelor's and Master's course you will graduate with both a Bachelor of Agribusiness and a Master of Agricultural Economics.

In your first three years you will complete the Agricultural Science and Agribusiness (Extended Major) where you will learn both the agricultural science and fundamental business, managerial and economic knowledge and skills necessary to address the scientific and managerial challenges in food systems and value chains, followed by a semester of postgraduate study.

You will then complete a final year of postgraduate study in the Master of Agricultural Economics. The master's component of the course will give you an appreciation of key elements of agricultural economics, with the overall course emphasis on the application of theory to real world circumstances. The core themes of the course are - applied economic analysis, policy analysis, and agribusiness management and analysis.

If you decide not to continue in the CBM you can exit after three years with a Bachelor of Agribusiness (Advanced). Note that the Advanced Bachelor Degree is available only as a CBM exit award. It is not offered for direct enrolment and is not awarded on completion of the CBM.

A globally relevant economics degree that focuses on analysis of production, consumption, and trade issues in the global food, fibre and energy sectors.
