    You also have the chance to study abroad and broaden your professional horizons. You'll acquire a robust skill set, mastering AI technologies to define and solve problems, and developing solutions from concept to execution. The curriculum covers essential AI topics including deep learning and natural language processing, ensuring you stay at the forefront of innovation.

    Learning is interactive and practical, fostering your ability to navigate AI complexities through inquiry and collaboration. You'll use cutting-edge software, engage with real-world case studies, and build a strong foundation in mathematics and IT. This hands-on experience not only hones your technical skills but also enhances critical thinking and teamwork abilities.

    Upon completion, you'll be able to design and implement AI applications, with career prospects ranging from AI specialist to data scientist.

    This course provides students with the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge required to meet the demands of this exciting field. Students in the program engage in practical, hands-on learning using technologies to formulate and scope an AI problem, and design, develop, verify and validate solutions for defined problems. The program covers a broad range of current and emerging areas of artificial intelligence, including such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, image processing and natural language processing.

    Course aims

    The Bachelor of AI Bachelor of International Studies combines the professional degree with language and culture studies, enhancing professional training and career options by providing students with the opportunity to undertake studies at an overseas University.

    Students participate in a variety of innovative, inquiry-based, collaborative learning activities, which enable them to identify, analyse and manage challenges in various aspects of Artificial Intelligence. Students learn how to formulate and scope an AI problem, and design, develop, verify and validate solutions for defined problems. Classes use state-of-the-art software and tools to integrate theoretical and practical concepts in AI. They have access to case studies of real-world AI problems, that will prepare them for a range of career opportunities in industry and business world. Learning is underpinned by a solid foundation in mathematics, statistics, information technology and software development, preparing students to work in a variety of IT roles that draw on both their broad IT knowledge and AI specialist skillset.

    Exposure to various specialized areas in AI, such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, image processing and natural language processing, enable students to reflect on the need and importance of AI, build in-depth knowledge and ability to apply Artificial Intelligence to solve real-world problems. With educational opportunities to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, they are able to apply these professional skills in the workplace, and offer original solutions to challenges that current industries are facing in the era of big-data, cloud, and automation. Students also develop strong interpersonal skills and a capacity for teamwork.

    As students study, they are able to design, build and evaluate AI solutions for applications such as autonomous cars, facial recognition, personalised learning, or voice assistants. Career options may include working as an artificial intelligence expert, artificial intelligence consultant, AI Specialist, machine learning engineer, data scientist, business analyst, software developer or data analyst.

    Admission requirements

    Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification, Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma, or equivalent Australian or overseas qualification at the required level.

    The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: IELTS Academic: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL iBT: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.

    International students

    Visa requirement: To obtain a student visa to study in Australia, international students must enrol full time and on campus. Australian student visa regulations also require international students studying on student visas to complete the course within the standard full-time duration. Students can extend their courses only in exceptional circumstances.
