Our program is designed to develop professionals who serve their communities with particular respect for Country and the challenges of our climate crisis. Through engaging in live projects, students develop design principles that prioritize social, economic, and environmental sustainability. We foster a consultative and collaborative approach, aiming to produce graduates who are advocates for social justice, equity, and diversity.

Course overview

Spend more time in the studio! More than half of your design courses are spent in the architecture studio.

In your courses you’ll learn about:

• the architectural site as a landscape
• construction and detailing of buildings
• sustainable design practices
• communication in the built environment
• construction technology and ecology
• making conceptual and realistic models in our workshop

Admission to our undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.

Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy.

In the application portal, you can enter the program you wish to study and upload relevant documents needed as part of your application. It is recommended you submit your application a minimum of 12 weeks before your intended semester of trimester start date.

After completing this degree, graduates may pursue careers in private architectural practice or fields like government, international aid, infrastructure planning, research, journalism, architectural criticism, restoration, and conservation.

Students wishing to qualify as professional architects can further their studies by enrolling in the Master of Architecture program.
