    About

    Overview

In this degree, you will examine environmental, ethical, corporate and consumer dimensions of the fashion and textiles industry through the lens of product management, marketing and retail.

You will gain an understanding of the dynamics of the industry, including consumer buying patterns, and how to design, develop, source, communicate and sell fashion products.

With emphasis on the emerging markets and innovations of the Asia Pacific region, this degree incorporates the latest innovations in technology, e-commerce, sustainability and emerging consumer trends.

As a graduate, you will have the necessary foundation to further specialise and apply your knowledge in fashion enterprise as an emerging entrepreneur or intrapreneur across large, medium or small global fashion enterprises, or further study.

In addition to the multitude of fashion management areas you will cover - including fashion buying, merchandise planning and allocation, and trend analysis - this course will emphasise new practices, from data-driven approaches to interactive virtual environments, transparency of global value chains and improved practices in a sustainable and circular economy.

The knowledge and skills you will acquire throughout this degree and how they can be applied in your career are described in the learning outcomes.

    Electives and course plan

As part of your studies, you will complete several core units, and have the opportunity to undertake a minor specialisation in either fashion design, textile design, fashion and textiles sustainable innovation or fashion enterprise, as well as choose from a range of fashion and textiles or university-wide electives.

    Requirements

    Entry Requirements

You must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 65% (see calculator below).

Meeting the minimum academic requirements does not guarantee entry. Your application will still need to be assessed and accepted.

    Career

As a graduate, you can pursue a range of professional roles across the local and global fashion industry.

Roles could include product management, distribution, marketing, retail, and digital analysis and marketing of fashion practice, niche fashion, emerging markets, and techniques across the fashion industry.

There are also opportunities to begin your own start-up enterprise or pursue further studies at postgraduate level.
