Podiatrists are in demand with flexible employment prospects. This course was Queensland’s first degree in podiatry and offers opportunities for hands-on learning that are unique to QUT, including industry-leading technologies. Our teaching and clinical staff are practising podiatrists who maintain links with the profession, ensuring our courses are up-to-date and relevant.
During this course you will undertake high quality hands-on clinical placement experiences. At our on-campus podiatry clinic, you will treat real patients under the supervision of clinical educators who are registered podiatrists.
Professional experience is also offered at external facilities where you can learn from podiatrists in industry and experience podiatry practice in different workplace settings. You will have further opportunities to participate in events that focus on promotion of foot health within the wider community.
Integral to the practice of podiatry is an understanding of human anatomy, biomolecular science, pharmacology, dermatology, podiatric medicine and surgery. This theoretical knowledge is supported with extensive professional placement to prepare you for transition into the workforce.
