    Understanding the science behind human behaviour

    This degree is designed for those who are interested in understanding how people think, feel and behave across different contexts. You will learn from leading academics from many fields of psychology who will guide you through a tailored program, specifically designed to give you the skills sought after by employers across multiple professions.

    In addition to the core psychology content of the Bachelor of Psychological Sciences, this degree offers the opportunity to extend your knowledge and deepen your critical thinking skills through advanced science coursework and a major cross-disciplinary project.

    Course overview

    This degree covers all the requirements of an APAC accredited undergraduate degree in Psychology, including a wide range of subject areas.

    Throughout the degree you will learn about:

    • Biological mechanisms that underlie perception, learning, memory and emotions
    • Cognitive processes and information processing
    • Social psychology and personality
    • How these processes develop across the lifespan, from birth to old age, vary across individuals, context and diverse clinical profiles
    • Research methodologies and statistical methods used to study human behaviour
    • How the environment impacts and is impacted by our behaviour

    In addition, you will work with a small cohort of students in Advanced degrees across the College of Engineering, Science and the Environment to develop and practice scientific enquiry and professional development skills needed to problem-solve in the real world.

    Entry Requirements

    Admission to our undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.

    English Program Requirements

    Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy.

    In the application portal, you can enter the program you wish to study and upload relevant documents needed as part of your application. It is recommended you submit your application a minimum of 12 weeks before your intended semester of trimester start date.

    Postgraduate pathways available for graduates who also complete the Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (Honours) degree include the research and Clinical PhD, Master of Clinical Psychology, Master of Professional Psychology, Master of Business Psychology, Master of Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing and other psychology-related programs.

    If you wish to practice as a psychologist, you must complete additional accredited postgraduate studies.
