    You will learn to analyse and address key social issues and inequalities, using practical strategies and methods to propose evidence-based solutions that can create better outcomes for all.

    Course overview

    You will graduate with expertise in professional social science skills in analysis, policy and research.

    Core courses provide you with the applied skills needed to understand real world problems and create practical solutions, including:

    • Analysing contemporary social problems
    • Ethical and professional practice
    • Social research skills: applied qualitative and quantitative methods
    • Policy and program development and evaluation
    • Organisational management and social behaviour
    • Social sciences placement: employability and experiential learning

    In addition to core courses, you can choose from 11 major areas of study to diversify your learning and career pathways. You can also undertake elective courses outside the Bachelor of Social Science.

    Entry Requirements

    Admission to our undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.

    English Program Requirements

    Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy.

    In the application portal, you can enter the program you wish to study and upload relevant documents needed as part of your application. It is recommended you submit your application a minimum of 12 weeks before your intended semester of trimester start date.
