    It has been predicted that digital technologies such as AI and cloud could create a half-trillion opportunity for the UK economy, increasing GDP by over £550 billion by 2035 (Microsoft, 2024), highlighting the impact AI could have if utilised effectively.

    The BSc (Hons) Computing with AI Technology will provide you with a recognised undergraduate qualification which combines a wide range of computing subject areas with Artificial Intelligence Technology.

    It is also attractive to learners who have related IT work experience but do not hold a first degree as they provide an opportunity to achieve an academic qualification in a subject area in which they are familiar. Indeed, there is a need in the market for those with such qualifications and the programme can prepare you for a range of careers in artificial intelligence, including machine learning on cloud and programming for AI applications.

    Academic requirements

    Depending on your previous qualifications, you can join the programme directly onto Year One, Two or Three.

    Year One (Level 4) 112 UCAS Tariff points

    GCSE requirements:
    Maths and English Language at minimum grade 4/C, or an equivalent.

    Year Two (Level 5) HNC or equivalent Level 4 qualification in an computing or IT subject area
    Year Three (Level 6) HND or Foundation Degree in a computing or IT related field.

    Applicants holding a relevant computing or IT qualification in addition to one of the following: DipHE, any Level 5 award such as Certificate, Diploma or NVQ, will also be considered.

    Please note:

    For Level 5 and Level 6 entry you must provide evidence of a Level 2 Maths or equivalent. Exemptions are granted if you can evidence previous study in finance, accounting, statistics, data analysis or research modules at previous levels of study.

    Applicants over the age of 21 without formal qualifications yet with appropriate work experience are also encouraged to apply for entry to level 4 or 5. Non-standard qualifications/work experience will need to be considered on an individual basis.

    English language requirements

    • IELTS minimum score of 6.0 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent)
