Our Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) allows you to â€˜work, earn and learn by studying for a degree when continuing in your employment. It is a practical and integrated way to launch a new career or develop expertise with your current employer, who will benefit from having highly skilled, more motivated and ambitious employees.

Study the same core modules as full-time Business Management students, covering core management areas such as marketing, business law, research methods and strategy.

Study work-based learning modules throughout your degree, allowing you to complete projects designed to support your employers business goals and objectives.

Benefit from guidance, mentoring and one-to-one supervision provided by our academic staff in support with your employer mentor.

Benefit from learning alongside other GAs, who will come from very different organisations and have a range of experience. This provides a stimulating and rewarding stage in your professional and personal development, and a unique networking opportunity.

English Program Requirements

The University requires all students to demonstrate sufficient academic English language proficiency to undertake and derive full benefit from their chosen programme of study. This page acts a guide to help you meet the English language requirements for your chosen course.

Students who are not a national of a Majority English Speaking Country, as recognised by the UKVI, must meet the English language requirements of their intended programme of study.

Career

Scottish Higher: BBBC

The course is available if you are currently living and working in Scotland and working on a full-time or part-time basis.

You can apply if you are aged 16 or over and there is no maximum age limit.

If you have already completed a degree with SAAS funding, you could still do a GA, particularly if it is a career change to something new.

If you are a school leaver or not in employment but think that a GA could be for you, you can apply the same way you would apply for a job. The vacancies are advertised on the Apprenticeships Scotland website.

Typically, we would expect a minimum of four Scottish Highers (or equivalent).

Your application will be assessed on an individual basis, taking into account any previous industry experience you may have. If you have already completed a Foundation or Modern Apprenticeship in a related subject, this will also contribute towards meeting the entry requirements.

Applying For an Undergraduate Course Through UCAS

All undergraduate applications are made through UCAS.

What is UCAS?

UCAS is the organisation that processes applications to study full-time courses at universities and colleges in the UK.

At UCASyou will find guidance on choosing the right course, completing your online application, tracking your application and funding your course.

Once you have applied, you will be able to track the progress of your application through UCAS track. The status of your application will be updated with the decision made by your university.

Key UCAS dates:

Mid September - Applications can be submitted to UCAS.
26 January (18:00 UK time) – Deadline for applications to QMU courses*
25 February – Extra opens
4 July– Extra closes
July to August – Clearing

*If you’re applying through schools or colleges, sometimes you will be given an earlier deadline to fill in your application – this is to make sure they can write your reference and send your application to UCAS on time.

UCAS Extra

If the applications you have made for your chosen courses are unsuccessful, you could apply for other courses through UCAS Extra.

UCAS Extra is an opportunity for you to consider another course, even a different subject, without waiting for Clearing.

To be eligible for Extra:

All five choices must have been used
Your must have no offers or declined any offers you have received

Clearing

If you do not get the qualifications needed to meet the conditions of your offer or you do not receive any offers though UCAS or UCAS Extra, you can look for places through Clearing.

Clearing is a chance for students to look for a place if they don’t have one. It’s also the final chance for universities to fill any places they still have available.
