Sport and Leisure is one of the fastest growing areas of the global economy, and this course provides the opportunity to gain an understanding of how relevant activities are delivered and managed and develop business insight alongside professional practice.

    Our Business with Sport and Leisure Management course will give you a comprehensive understanding of the functions and processes involved in managing sport and leisure organisations. It offers a huge amount of flexibility after your first year, which means you can really tailor the course to your career aspirations. Modules are taught by leaders in their fields and are designed to give you the opportunity to develop analytical, problem-solving, presentation and other transferable skills required by the business world. Youll have the opportunity to develop the skills to motivate and inspire a team of people to work towards a common goal.

    How will you learn?

    • You will learn through practical application and creatively delivered lectures, workshops, seminars and group work sessions.
    • Youll be taught by experienced lecturers, wholl help you explore areas of finance, marketing, human resources and operations management in the specific areas of stadium and arena management and sport governance and strategy. Youll be able to select options such as Global Events and Festivals, Niche Tourism Strategy, Strategic Marketing Planning, Sustainable Tourism, Managing Across Cultures, Advances in Leadership, Social Entrepreneurship, E-commerce and People Resourcing.
    • You'll learn how to identify, analyse and put forward solutions to organisational and managerial problems in relation to Sport & Leisure organisations. During your course you will have exposure to industry professionals through guest lectures and field trips, capitalising on the University's links with local sport and leisure organisations including Huddersfield Town Football Club.
    • During your studies well give you the opportunity to take a placement with a business, either in the UK or abroad.
    • During your time on the course youll have the chance to gain an in-depth understanding of business, sport and leisure management.

    What subjects will you cover?

    Youll explore subjects such as Stadium and Arena Management, Sport, Media and Culture, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Business Strategy and International Business of Sport.

    • For entry onto Undergraduate courses a Certificate of Secondary Education and a Foundation Year is required.
    • For entry onto Postgraduate courses a Bachelor degree is required.
