This level 7 module is ideal for your CPD or as an introduction to Ergonomics and Human Factors. Worth 20 university credits, this module will give you a holistic view of ergonomics and human factors.
This module will begin with a holistic view of ergonomics and human factors. You will learn about the fundamental areas of ergonomics and human factors such as safety, comfort, performance, health, and wellbeing. The module introduces design and the design process, user needs, usability and UX (user experience), and encourages you to consider the needs and desires of different user groups.
This module covers a range of methods used as part of the design process to gather data about how people interact with products, their work, workplace, leisure, and day-to-day activities.
On successful completion of the module, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the scope and aims of ergonomics and human factors
- Critically evaluate fundamental areas of ergonomics and human factors
- Demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of the range methods and techniques available to understand user groups as part of the design process
