    About

This degree program equips students with the advanced knowledge needed to understand and design the built environment. Students learn how buildings and bridges may be designed to resist the forces imposed upon them by external loads, gravity, wind, and earthquakes.

Illinois Techs Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Master of Engineering in Geotechnical Engineering accelerated master's degree program allows students the opportunity to pursue advanced studies and complete both degrees in as few as five years.

Our undergraduate civil engineering program provides breadth in core sub-disciplines (including structures, transportation, and construction management) and depth in at least one area of specialization (at the discretion of the student and academic adviser).

Combined with our graduate program, students will be equipped with the background knowledge and training to analyze, design, and construct structures, and to provide solutions to problems in geotechnical engineering and environmental geotechnics.
