Computer science can be applied to an almost endless list of fields which cover an increasingly large range of our everyday life. As a science of systematic processing, storage and transmission of digitally represented information, computer science deals with the development of complex, artificial, i.e. manmade, systems.
This 5-year programme encompasses 300 ECTS points, including a mandatory 1-semester internship.
The course of study is divided into a basic programme (123 ECTS points) and a main programme (177 ECTS points). The basic programme, concluded by the intermediate exam, teaches the fundamental principles of computer science, e.g. algorithms, complexity, and efficiency.
For the main programme, students can choose courses from three of the following fields: theoretical computer science, technical computer science, artificial intelligence, applied computer science, system architecture, software and web engineering. Finally, a diploma thesis is prepared and based on either applied or research oriented topics.
