Construction Management with Foundation Year

This degree offers you the chance to strengthen your skills, knowledge and confidence before you advance to stage one of your honours degree.

• Once you have completed your Foundation Year, you'll join a course accreditated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES)
• Take a major step towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), which paves the way for Chartered status and the chance to boost your earning power
• Gain a wide range of hands-on experience to put your learning into practice
• Develop a practical approach to problem-solving and decision-making within construction
• Choose to spend an optional year on an industry placement to strengthen your CV further still
• Take the opportunity to join UK and European study trips

• Students with an overall score of 60% would usually be eligible for the International Foundation Year
• UKVI IELTS 4.5 with a minimum of 4.0 in all components (CEFR B1) is also required

• If you are studying and completing any internationally recognised qualification such as A-levels; International Baccalaureate (IB) or the American Curricula from the International Schools within Jordan, then you can begin from the first year of a Bachelors degree. • If you have completed a recognised international foundation programme with good grades
• Advanced entry to year 2 or 3 may be possible. You will need to supply detailed information including courses taken, grades achieved, syllabus and a grading guide

Once you have completed the course, you will have every opportunity to pursue an exciting professional career in construction management, project management, site management or manufacturing. Because the degree is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), you will be eligible for membership (MCIOB).

Our graduates go on to take up roles with the main construction and civil engineering contractors for the public sector, including all the major companies. Some enter the teaching profession and others undertake further postgraduate study such as our MSc in Civil Engineering and Construction Management.
