    The Mundus Journalism degree explores the practice and performance of journalism and the media in the context of globalisation, modernisation and commercialisation.

    We will give you relevant skills and knowledge concerning European journalism as you apply a global perspective to journalism before specialising in one journalistic field.

    You will gain an understanding of contemporary issues and debates in European journalism and acquire analytical skills and techniques to assess the merits of different approaches and theories.

    Who is this course for?

    If you have a good first degree together with some journalistic experience and a strong ambition to become a journalist, this master’s degree is ideal.

    You may have additional interest in crisis and conflict journalism, as this is one of our specialisms at City.

    Equip yourself with an international blend of journalism and media skills as part of a unique two-year master’s degree bringing together five leading European institutions under the prestigious Erasmus Mundus programme.     Entry Requirements

    Saudi Arabia

    Please refer to the UK entry requirements for the course, check for any prerequisites such as compulsory or preferred subject areas, and use the following as an indication of the Saudi Arabian equivalent required.

    The equivalents provided are intended as a guide only and individual applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

    Saudi Arabian Bachelor degrees are typically accepted with GPA 3.2 out of 4.0 or GPA 4.0 out of 5.0 equivalent to a UK 2:1 (second-class upper) Honours Bachelor degree and GPA 2.4 out of 4.0 or GPA 3.0 out of 5.0 equivalent to a UK 2:2 (second-class lower) Honours Bachelor degree.

    Visa requirements

    International Students coming to study in the UK may need to apply for a visa or entry clearance to come to the UK to study. The way that you apply may vary depending on the length of your course. There are different rules for:

    • Students on courses of more than six months
    • Students on courses of less than six months

    English Program Requirements

    If your first language is not English, the following qualification is also required:

    • IELTS Academic test (on paper) with a band score of 7,0 and a minimum score of 6.0 in each category. Please note that we do NOT accept the Global IELTS indicator.
    • TOEFL test with a score of at least 100. We also accept the TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition.
    • Cambridge ESOL exams: Certificate of Proficiency (CPE) or Certificate in Advanced English with at least 190 points on the Cambridge English-scale.

    If you have studied for one or more years in, or received a degree from, a college or institution in an English-speaking country, you will not need to present an English language test. (This education however must have taken place within two years prior to submission of the course application.)
