    About

Students usually spend two semesters at one of our partner universities. During this time they develop not only legal skills through the comparison of legal systems but also personal skills through intercultural exchange. Four courses on the law of the country they are visiting (preferably dogmatic core subjects such as contract law) must be successfully completed at the foreign partner university. Further requirements can be seen here. The course including the certificate exam is normally completed in 1 ½ years. On application, this period of time can be excluded from the time period calculated for the free shot attempt” for the compulsory Lower Saxony state exam; i.e. it does not have a negative effect on the free shot attempt. The following modules must be completed: 4 courses of national law, 1 course European law, 1 course comparative law (i.e. European Legal Practice in Hannover), 1 seminar corresponding with the subject area of the certificate degree.
    • Successful completion of the intermediate exam in law
    • High proficiency in the language of the partner university
    • Interest in foreign legal systems
    • Sociable personality
