Embark on a dynamic journey into extended reality, where you'll develop your own creative project, shape your path and work on ideas that inspire you.

This MA is all about your creative vision. You’ll learn how to lead, pitch, and manage creative projects, gaining skills that will set you up for success.

Whether you're developing a new concept, telling a story, or exploring fresh designs, you'll have access to the cutting-edge technologies, facilities and modules you may need to help you transform your creative vision.

This qualification is an option on our Creative Technologies Master's course. You'll select MA Creative Technologies when you apply, then choose Extended Reality as your pathway project after you start the course. You'll graduate with MA Extended Reality.

These are the entry requirements for the MA Creative Technologies course.

Eligibility

This course accepts UK, EU, and International students.

September 2026 start

A second-class honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject or a master's degree in an appropriate subject.

Please get in touch if you're not sure if your undergraduate subject is relevant to this degree.

Exceptionally, equivalent professional experience and/or qualifications will be considered, such as previous study, employment, voluntary work and training courses, including courses and qualifications you didn't complete. Learn more about our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

If you're applying as an international student with a non-UK degree, you’ll need to show you meet the UK entry requirements listed above.

English language proficiency at a minimum of IELTS band 6.5 with no component score below 5.5.

You do not need an IELTS or equivalent certification if:

you have a UK degree
you have a degree from a majority English-speaking country (not taught by Distance Learning)
you are a national of a majority English-speaking country

If you do not meet the English language requirements yet, you can achieve the level you need by successfully completing a pre-sessional English programme before you start your course.

An online portfolio submission may be required as part of the selection process.
