    About

    Route 1: US Partnership (January intake only)

    Partly based in the USA with UK International Soccer, you will complete paid work placements, and receive lectures, tutorials, and support by visiting members of USW staff and UKIS mentors.

    Lectures, seminars, and tutorials will be delivered on site at the University of South Wales. In addition, you will have access to on-line material.

    Route 2: On-Campus (September intake)

    Complete year 1 on campus and be prepared to head to the US in Year 2 and 3 of the course with UK International Soccer.

    Based at the USW Sport Park, our state-of-the-art coaching and performance development centre, you’ll be taught face to face by leading specialists in the field. You will have the opportunity to plan and deliver sports event with some of our key partners, including the FAW Trust, Cardiff City and local schools and clubs. Before heading to the US in years 2 and 3 of the course.

    Entry Requirements

    Academic Qualifications

    • Applicants who have completed a Diploma of Technician / Technical Diploma in a relevant subject can be considered for year 1 entry of an undergraduate degree
    • Applicants who have followed the IB Diploma curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied
    • Applicants who have followed the A-Level curriculum can be considered for undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied

    Undergraduate Advanced Entry

    Students who have completed a 2 year Diploma or Associate Degree from a recognised institution can be considered for advanced entry onto the 2nd year of an undergraduate degree programme

    English Program Requirements

    English Qualifications

    Proficiency in English is essential for undergraduate and postgraduate study. The University of South Wales recognises the following English Language qualifications:

    • GCSE/O Level English at grade C or above
    • IELTS with an overall score of 6.0 with at least a 5.5 in each component.

    You can enter a broad range of careers when you graduate, such as a football academy coach or skills coach at a professional club, football development officer, community coach, sports development officer, strength and conditioning coach or performance analyst. Some graduates find employment in the armed forces, emergency services or continue to study to become a teacher.
