    About

    Global health is the vision of a world free of avoidable diseases, in which physical and mental health is promoted in every society and where the overall life expectancy of people increases. Essential measures to achieve these goals are strengthening national health care systems, fighting antibiotic resistance, curbing diseases and improving global pandemic preparedness. The masters degree program for continuing education in Global Health Risk Management & Hygiene Policies is offered by the University of Bonn in cooperation with the Institute for Environment and Human Security (EHS) at United Nations University (UNU) and is largely oriented towards the UNs sustainable development goals. Students in this degree program learn about strategies and requirements of preventing and controlling health risks and of securing the promotion and protection of health, supply structures and protective measures against natural catastrophes, which are based on the strategies and recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). This interdisciplinary degree program is intended for university graduates with at least two years of relevant work experience who seek to gain further, academically well-grounded qualifications to fill a demanding position as a global health professional. Possible lines of work: International institutions and organizations (e.g. WHO, World Bank, UNEP, UNICEF), national health care systems (e.g. public authorities, ministries), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private economy (e.g. pharmaceutical companies, private health care sector), academia (teaching/research at universities, research institutions, etc.) Tuition: € 18,000 total Masters degree programs for continuing education are subject to tuition. The amount of tuition depends on the range of courses offered in the particular degree program and is based the programs scale of charges.
