It will provide you with the skills required to investigate and respond to outbreaks of communicable diseases, such as COVID-19, and environmental health risks such as smoke from bushfires. You will gain an understanding of environmental health concepts, the epidemiology of communicable diseases, core communicable disease control principles, the objectives of public health surveillance systems, and legislation and regulation in place to manage public health risks. The course has been developed in close collaboration with Public Health Services, Department of Health Tasmania, ensuring that graduates are practice-ready and have strong links with practitioners, employers and systems that address health protection.
The Graduate Certificate in Health Protection is delivered online, using real-world examples and practical assessments.
