About

At its core, inclusive education is about recognising all aspects of human diversity as valuable, and ensuring equitable quality learning opportunities that maximise the potential of all students.

The Graduate Certificate of Inclusive and Special Education provides a coherent program of study and professional experience to prepare you for the advanced professional duties of a qualified special educator working in either inclusive or specialised settings. A key focus is on identifying the barriers to education for many students, including common misunderstandings relating to disability. You’ll evaluate the impact of a range of social, cultural, political, economic and environmental factors, and develop strategies for addressing these barriers. The course provides a specific focus on disability equity education.

What if I don't meet the requirements?

If you don’t meet the English requirements for your course, you may be issued an offer of study that includes an English preparation program at the Macquarie University English Language Centre (ELC). If you receive a packaged offer, you can apply for a single student visa covering both your English preparation program and your course.

The length of your English program will depend on your current English level and the minimum English requirements for your course. Our admissions team will be able to recommend the number of weeks required when you submit your application.
