The Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) is a course for students holding an undergraduate degree or graduate certificate in either OH&S or Occupational Hygiene.
This degree was developed with industry to address the complex nature of occupational health and safety in the workplace.
During the graduate diploma you will study advanced WHS risk management, applied human factors and ergonomics, industrial epidemiology and toxicology, occupational health and safety theories and systems, work health and safety law, and workplace hazards and hygiene.
The Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety has a flexible delivery mode combining online course content with three to five days of on campus block teaching sessions focused on the exploration and application of the subject material. The on campus component utilises a range of campus resources, including UOW’s well-resourced OHS laboratory.
For students wishing to study further, this graduate diploma also provides a pathway to the Master of Occupational Health and Safety. All subjects successfully completed are credited towards the master level degree.

Fee subsidised places available
UOW is offering Commonwealth supported places (CSPs) for all of our postgraduate coursework degrees in 2025. This means the Australian government will subsidise your tuition fees by up to 75%. To be eligible for this fee subsidy, you must meet the following criteria: Be a domestic student, i.e. an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or a permanent Australian Humanitarian visa holder.
