    The Graduate Diploma in Science (Advanced) gives students with an undergraduate major in one of our available streams the chance to complete 100 additional points of study, potentially including a research component.

    You'll increase your specific knowledge and understanding, and build awareness of current developments and issues relating to your area.

    Admission criteria

    To be considered for entry into this course, you must have:

    • An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline AND
    • Appropriate prerequisite studies for your stream AND
    • A weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%) in the best 25 points of appropriate discipline studies at level 2 or above.

    Appropriate disciplines depend on the stream you undertake. These include:

    BioSciences: Biological Sciences (or equivalent).

    Earth Sciences: Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, or Physics (or equivalents).

    Mathematics and Statistics: Mathematics and Statistics (or equivalents).

    Physics: Physics, Mathematical Physics, Chemical Physics (or equivalents).

    Meeting the published entry requirements for this course does not guarantee selection.
