The Graduate Certificate in Health Data Analytics 1 offered by the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences is designed to provide solid quantitative training and essential statistical and computing skills needed to clean, manage, and analyze health science data to address important questions in public health and biomedical sciences.
This 15-credit, 10-month program, running from September to June, consists of asynchronous, online teaching with optional synchronous components. The program consists of five courses; the first four courses provide core training in data management and analysis using R, foundations of statistical methods for data analysis, and reporting and presentation of results. The final capstone course is a guided project, in which students will synthesize knowledge gained in the first courses, develop a research question, analyze data and present their findings.
The program is designed for students with a quantitative or science background; some experience with statistics is helpful but not necessary.
