This double degree develops your expertise in both health promotion and occupational health and safety. As a graduate, you can choose to work within either discipline over your career, or you can pursue a career that combines both. Your first year is interprofessional and taken with other health sciences students.
In the following years, youll learn how to promote health by creating healthy environments, informing policies and laws to support healthy choices, and strengthening peoples ability to plan and take action to achieve healthier outcomes.
The occupational health and safety component gives you the skills to contribute proactively to risk management and assessment, and help prevent injuries and disease in the workplace.
You will participate in an on-campus health promotion campaign and in fieldwork visits so you can see health and safety in action. You'll also develop your practical skills by completing 350 hours in professional placements, in both health promotion and health and safety organisations.
