    Overview

    The BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing and Social Care with Foundation Year course delivers a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector, helping develop the skills and experiences needed to be successful in this sector.

    The learning structure during the Foundation Year has been designed to develop academic skills and essential topics relating to health and social care, providing a fundamental understanding of the sector.

    The following three years of the programme will progressively build in levels of intensity, exploring key topics including behavioural influences in healthcare provision and how to deliver effective management across the sector.

    This programme provides the skills, practical experience and industry scope needed to be impactful in health and social care now and into the future.

    The BSc (Hons) Health, Wellbeing and Social Care with Foundation Year course delivers a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector, helping develop the skills and experiences needed to be successful in this sector. The course is delivered by Global Banking School (GBS) in partnership with Oxford Brookes University.

    Specific entry requirements

    80 UCAS tariff points (or above) or 60 Credit Ofqual qualification at Level 3. Applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements will be considered on an individual basis and relevant work experience may be taken into consideration.

    If applicants aged 21+ do not meet the standard entry requirements we will also consider those with life/ work skills which would make them suitable for undergraduate study.

    Applicants must be able to evidence a minimum of B1 English, either via an exam taken on campus or equivalent accepted English language qualification.

    The combination of practical insights, progressive assessments and stimulating course modules will ensure that students will be ready to progress into a successful healthcare or social care career.

    Students will be able to consider future areas of employment, including the age and needs of services users, whether their passion is an area of health and prevention or treatment; or a role which focuses for example on social determinants and developing community services.

    Across the programme, students will be introduced to a number of elements of assessment tailored to the professional attributes which are crucial to employment across the Health, Wellbeing and Social Care sector.

    The structure of this course ensures that students will gain the skills, practical experience and industry scope needed to be impactful in health and social care now and into the future.
