    Improving Teaching and Learning in Health Professions Education

    About

    The program is currently undergoing changes. The changes will be reflected on the website in November 2025. Applications will open in November for admission to Sepetmber 2026.

    Facilitated by inter-professional faculty teams, this online certificate program will give faculty and instructors in the health sciences the skills and knowledge needed to lead curricular design and program development activities. The program is designed to be flexible to allow students to continue in their professions while taking the four courses required for the certificate:

    • EADM 816.3: Leadership for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning
    • EADM 829.3: Organizational Renewal in Educational Systems and Settings
    • ECUR 809.3: Models and Methods for Evaluation of Educational Programs
    • ECUR 839.3: Program Curriculum and Course Design Development

    Students may also ladder this credential into an online M.Ed. in Health Professions Education.

    Entry Requirements

    Admission requirements

    Graduate Certificate (G.Cert.)

    • A four-year degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university
    • A cumulative weighted average of at least 65% (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (i.e. 60 credit units)
    • Language proficiency requirements: Proof of English language proficiency may be required for international applicants and for applicants whose first language is not English
    • Teaching responsibilities and/or the ability to demonstrate teaching experience

    English Program Requirements

    The language of instruction and examination at the University of Saskatchewan is English. In order for students to understand, communicate and be successful in programs at the university, an acceptable level of academic English is required. You may be asked to provide proof of English proficiency.
