Elevate Your Passion for Gaming with Our Master's in Game Development Program Are you ready to take your technical knowledge, artistic vision, and passion for gaming to the next level? WPI's nationally ranked master's in Interactive Media & Game Development (IMGD) will get you there. Our interactive media and game development degree prepares professionals who can balance sophisticated design and technical expertise in developing immersive, interactive environments. You may tailor a program to suit your interests and career goals as you learn from and work alongside world-renowned faculty researchers and industry advisors. Students in our game design master's program come from various backgrounds, including college graduates continuing their education, game industry professionals aiming for leadership roles, and professionals from other fields retooling their skills. Through our interdisciplinary game development program, you will take core courses that provide a base of knowledge in the design of interactive media while specializing in one of three focus areas: Technical: for students with a software development background who wish to expand their understanding of Interactive Media & Game Development (IMGD) Serious games: for students who want to apply IMGD in such areas as education, healthcare, simulation, and social sciences Production and management: for students who intend to work on the business side of gaming after pursuing their MS in game development degree. You will synthesize your learning in interactive media, game design, and development with a culminating thesis or substantial group project.

Requirements

English Program Requirements

Any international applicant seeking to attend WPI on an F-1 student Visa must submit official TOEFL scores or IELTS scores. However, if applicants have two years of continuous full-time college study completed within the last five years, in a country whose official language is English, he or she can apply for a TOEFL/IELTS waiver.

TOEFLS are waived for individuals who have been in the US for three or more years working.

WPI requires a minimum TOEFL score of 84 or IELTS score of 7. The School of Business requires a GMAT score of 500 or its equivalent on the GRE. There are no minimum GRE scores, but the average for admitted international students over the past three years has been 150 verbal, 165 quantitative, and 3.0 analytical.
